Art Cinema in the Mountains

Thyssen Bornemisza Art Contemporary (TBA21) will screen 6 art films from its collection at the second edition of the Dharamshala International Film Festival (DIFF), which is on from October 24 to 27. The six films chosen have been curated by DIFF organizers Ritu Sarin and Tenzin Sonam, along with TBA21’s chief curator, Daniela Zyman, and will be presented under a special segment known as “Art and Film”.

The press release states that the films explore the “present multiple explorations of socio-political, historical, and psychological relevance, concerning the question of image-making and representation in the Arab World.”

Adding to this, TBA21’s founder, Francesca von Habsburg, will introduce and present the films on October 26, at the screening venue. The six films are:

• “Ariana” (2003)
• “The Fall of a Hair, Part 1: The Pixelated Revolution” (2012)
• “Section 88: Views from Inner to Outer Compartments” (2010)
• “Casio, Seiko, Sheraton, Toyota, Mars” (2004)
• “Cabaret Crusades: The Horror Show File” (2010)
