Rashmi Sawhney
Programme Executive

Rashmi Sawhney looks after IFA’s Extending Arts Practice and Curatorship programmes. She studied at Fergusson College, Pune and at NMIMS, Mumbai, worked with the Times of India Group in Baroda and Delhi and lived in Ireland for ten years where she did her PhD in Film and Cultural Studies and later, taught Visual and Cultural Studies at the Dublin Institute of Technology and at Trinity College, Dublin. She has been actively involved in the Forum on Migration and Communications (FOMACS –, a public media project in Dublin, organized through a network of NGOs, filmmakers, artists, activists, journalists, curators, and academics. Her research has been published in journals like Interventions, Film Studies, Moving Worlds, LITCRITT, and in edited book collections.


Aileen Blaney
Assistant Programme Executive / Research Fellow

Aileen Blaney has a background in film studies and received her PhD from Trinity College Dublin. She was a Korean government postdoctoral scholar and has taught in the areas of film and visual media. Her publications have appeared in leading journals including History & Memory, the European Journal of Cultural Studies, Journal of Visual and Image Studies and European Journal of Women’s Studies, in addition to several edited collections.As a creative producer and content writer with Pivotal Arts Studio (formerly FOMACS), in Dublin, Ireland, she has worked across a range of creative arts projects uniting public curation and education, visual media and ethnography
